Diarise time to think on purpose with a supportive thinking partner.
Thinking about our thoughts is called metacognition, Getting time to do good thinking is difficult. We end up operating on autopilot with brief moments of private brainstorming. Actioning an unrefined brainstorm is very difficult, so nothing changes.
Good thinking is more likely to happen with another person who is on your side and trained to help you:
Reflect on and expand your thinking
Decide what you really want or want to change.
Determine the path you want to take.
Support your learnings as you step out and do what you decided to.
Think on purpose to identify your motivations and get clarity on your perspectives.
Make conscious choices about what you think and what you want.
Plan how to get to where you want to be.
Take action on your plan and learn as as you go.
